As professional childcare providers, we aim to work in partnership with parents/guardians to provide a warm, friendly, safe, home environment with a family atmosphere in which your child can play, learn and develop. Your child will receive consistent one-to-one attention whilst enjoying interaction with others. We strive to maintain an environment where mutual and self-respect are encouraged, so that everyone feels valued. High standards of quality will be maintained and children will be urged towards independence while learning and playing in a nurturing setting.
Butterflies Childminding was founded in July 2008 by Kirstin and was then based in our old house. The business grew steadily and the number of children I looked after increased as families recommended me to their friends.
In March 2009 I was rewarded for all my hard work with a superb Ofsted inspection in which I was graded as Outstanding in all 14 areas of childcare! Soon after this we moved to a bigger house where we were quickly enjoying the larger, more child-friendly garden.
From then on I started having weekly enquiries for new parents asking me to care for their children but unfortunately I couldn’t fit them all in and I had to begin a waiting list!
Debbie registered as a childminder in December 2009 with the intention of working with me at Butterflies. This is very exciting as we now have two qualified, registered and insured childminders and two houses from which to work! This allows the children we care for:
o more adult attention
o more socialisation opportunities with other children
o more space in which to play
o different spaces for different activities
o safer outings
o and much more fun!!!

When you register your interest with Butterflies your child will be allocated a ‘key worker’ based on the days they wish to attend and which of us have vacancies on those days. This will be the registered childminder who has the main responsibility for your child’s care, will complete your child’s paperwork and who you will pay your fees to.
On a general day-to-day basis we both work together and share the same spaces. We both take responsibility for looking after all of the children and your child may do activities with either of us.
On some occasions it may be ideal for one of us to remain at home with the younger children whilst the other goes to collect the older ones from school. This could be if it is pouring with rain or if one or more of the younger children are asleep. It is therefore important that we ask you to sign to give permission for either of us to take sole care of your child. This permission will also allow us to cover each other during holidays or sickness.
