My name is Debbie Luxton-Keough. I live with my husband Darren, who is an engineer for JCB and my three children Alfie, born January 2005, Henry, born May 2007 and Esme, born November 2011. We also have a rabbit called Bob and a friendly cocker spaniel called Marley!

 

I graduated from the University of Plymouth in 1996 with a BA Hons degree in Design.
I worked as a Graphic designer for almost 10 years before the birth of my son in 2005.

 

Although I still enjoy a little Graphic Design occasionally, I decided I wanted to spend more time with my children.  I had considered childminding many times before, so in 2009, with 2 young children, it seemed the perfect time to take the plunge.  

 

I have had first hand experience of trying to juggle parenthood and work and trying to find the best childcare for my children, so completely understand how difficult it can be. With this in mind I am one hundred per cent committed to working as a childminder and the children I care for.

 

To date my qualifications include GSCE Child Development Grade A, BA Hons - Design, Introduction to Childminding Practice, Safeguarding Level 3, Paediatric First Aid, Level 3 Diploma in Children's and Young People's Workforce.  I have attended training in Speech and Language, Baby Signing, Multi-cultural Activities and many, many more. I continue to attend regular training events and courses to keep up to date with current legislation and to learn new ideas!

 

I became a Specialist Childminder in Early Learning in 2011 and in 2012 achieved a huge FCCERS (Family Child Care Environment Rating Scale) score

of 6.45 out of 7, the highest in Devon, at my inspection.

 

I am regularly inspected by Ofsted and have received two good gradings and an 'OUTSTANDING' in all areas from 2015-2022. This is a huge achievement as standards are very high. I am very proud and this reflects the huge amounts of effort and hard work I put into the children I care for! You can read my inspection reports here.
